Philadelphia, PA — October 1, 2019 — East Market today announced it will serve as a sponsor and official location partner for DesignPhiladelphia, the 14^th annual festival produced by the Center for Architecture and Design. Held from October 2-17, the festival includes more than 130 events, showcasing Philadelphia as a hotspot for design excellence while demonstrating the impact of design on our everyday lives.

As one of the most innovative and transformative projects in Center City, East Market is a natural location partner for the festival. Located in the heart of the city, East Market will highlight the impact designers can have on the resurgence of a community and how a space can empower makers, thinkers, doers and believers to grow and reimagine possibilities.

Conversations at the Girard – Monday, October 7 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

1199 Ludlow Street, Philadelphia, PA

Moderated by Philadelphia Inquirer architecture critic and Pulitzer Prize winner, Inga Saffron, The Girard’s Design Team will examine the interaction of architecture, landscape architecture, planning and hospitality. The panelists will include Morris Adjmi (Morris Adjmi Architects), Randy Cook (Method Hospitality), Margie Ruddick (Margie Ruddick Landscape), Michael Prifti (BLT Architects), Daniel Killinger (National Real Estate Development). 1100 Ludlow Open House – Thursday, October 10 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Held at the newest address for innovation in Philadelphia, 1100 Ludlow Street, The Design Center Philadelphia and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson will host an open house with beautiful design activations and engaging programming on the 3^rd, 4^th and 6^th floors.

Design Dinner – Hosted by Design Philadelphia at The Girard, Thursday, October 10 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

The newly launched series, Dine with Design, brings exclusive curated dining experiences to Philadelphia’s aesthetically pleasing showrooms, creative spaces, and culinary scenes. Held at the Roost East Market, talented designers, architects and attendees with experience the perfect blending of cuisine and authentic design conversation. “Circle Up” Light Install by Lucky Dog Studio at East Market, Monday, October 7th

Inspired by the vibrancy and connectivity of East Market, the “Circle Up” Installation is a nod to the linking of shops, restaurants, workspaces and dwellings flourishing on the property. Created by Philadelphia-based husband and wife designers, the Lucky Dog Studio, the installation strings together hula hoops to make a sensory impact and out-of-the-ordinary moment of reflection for pedestrians at East Market. The installation will run through mid-November and all materials used will be recycled for future art installations at East Market.
