In this city of neighborhoods. In this city of brotherly love and sisterly affection. Of 3,000 murals and counting. Of eagles, innovation, and independence. We are the epicenter. The 50-yard line. The beating heart. We are a thriving gathering place for a new generation of makers, thinkers, doers, and believers. A mosaic of people, culture, art, history, music, design, and commerce. A vibrant neighborhood of shops, restaurants, workspaces, and dwellings where ideas are born, businesses grow, and people flourish.

Our Roots
Center City’s Market Street carries a storied history. Once home to Benjamin Franklin, architect Jacob Graff, and philanthropist Stephen Girard, it’s also where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. True to its name, Market Street was home to iconic department stores like Wannamakers, Gimbels, and Snellenburg’s – and welcomed generations of families to the city. We believe it’s high time to welcome the next generation – to the next chapter in our beloved city.

Sense Of Place
Chestnut Walk, our pedestrian walking path, with its softly twinkling lights and lush landscaping by Philadelphia’s own Groundswell, is a relaxing retreat from the city’s constant buzzing activity. Take a break on one of our swings. Kick back with a book along Ludlow Street, or join us for an upcoming event.

Our Team
We're driven by our love for Philadelphia. Its rich history, art, culture, food. Its incredible people, and its boisterous, unpretentious spirit. For us, East Market is helping lead a larger transformation in Philadelphia, a literal and figurative building of pride and belief. That kind of building only succeeds when neighbors, makers, thinkers, doers, and believers come together to make it happen.
